How to get rid of those flabby arms

With summer approaching, it’s time to shed the clothing and show off those arms. That’s true unless you have flabby arms. Here are three lifestyle changes that can make a huge difference:

 

Healthy Diet – You can’t outrun a bad diet. The biggest changes for most need to be done in the kitchen. Stay away from highly-processed foods that you find at fast food restaurants or in the dessert aisle at the supermarket. Instead of opting for foods high in fats, specifically saturated and trans fats, shop for foods that are high in vitamins and minerals. A meal plan that includes lean meats, whole grains and fruits and vegetables will help you lose some body fat.

 

Cardiovascular Exercise – Hop on a treadmill or stationary bike. Break out your jump rope. Cardiovascular activity is the best way to burn calories in the gym and steady exercise at a low-to-moderate pace increases fat loss. Want to burn even more? Perform interval training such as 30 seconds of high-intensity followed by 90 second of low-to-moderate intensity work. You will burn more overall calories and your body will keep burning more calories over the next 24 hours.

 

Strength Training – Performing tricep dips and bicep curls alone won’t help. Your strength will increase but underneath a layer of fat, you won’t notice any definition that you crave. However, combined with the other two changes perform this arm workout twice per week:

Barbell Curl – 3 sets of 10 reps

Tricep Dips – 3 sets of 10 reps

Dumbbell Hammer Curls – 3 sets of 10 reps

Dumbbell Tricep Kickbacks – 3 sets of 10 reps

Alternating Dumbbell Curls – 1 set until failure

Rope Tricep Pushdowns – 1 set until failure
