What do I need to get fit? A checklist to help you!

A general checklist that involves nutrition and equipment

With 2019 just around the corner we bet you are looking for the perfect new years resolution! Or at least some healthy new habits to adopt. You certainly aren’t alone at this time of the year with a huge portion of the world jumping on the same boat. So what can you do to make sure you kick of your 2019 with a BANG? We have put together a top 5 checklist for you to make sure you don’t miss a thing!

ONE

Comfortable Shoes for exercising in to minimise any risk of injuries during your workouts. This part can definitely be overwhelming with so many options to choose from these days. Depending on the type of your foot and the exercise you will be doing there are a range of shoes to suit your needs. Nike and Adidas are always a good option - they have the right designs for the right needs and they don’t lack any style either. If you don’t know where to start then head down to your local Athlete’s Foot - they have trained shoe fitters that will be able to help you identify what you need.

TWO

Comfortable gym clothes to make your exercise fuss free. Now I don’t know about you but when I go for a run the last thing I want to be doing is thinking about how my shorts are running up my legs or my singlet strap is falling off. Same goes with being in the Gym. If you are lifting heavy weights the last thing that should be on your mind is the comfort of your clothes. So make sure you find the right gym clothes so your mind can be carefree. Some personal favourites are Running Bare, Nike, Adidas and Lululemon - they all seem to get the fit right. But do your homework and shop around to make sure you get what’s right for you!

THREE

Now you have your look sorted out it’s time to think about what you’re putting into your body to fuel your workouts. The old saying goes, we are what we eat, and it’s true! You need to fuel your body with the right gear to make sure you can perform and recover appropriately. So what should you be fueling your body with? A great pre workout ‘meal’ is a nice clean protein shake packed with some green boosters to get your veges in there too. You can choose from Whey based (milk), Plant Based or Hemp based protein. As a general rule the cleaner you eat, the better it is for you. Lots of fresh vegetables, salad and good fresh meat to fuel your body toward optimal performance.

FOUR

An achievable schedule planned out! This might seem silly and you might be thinking - I will just do it when I have time! But research shows that if you plan out your days that you will exercise and what you will do on each day then you are more likely to achieve your goals. What’s even better? Do it with a friend! Make someone else hold you accountable to show up to your planned days. Everything is always funner with a friend!

FIVE
